Speech Development at 10-12 Months Old

Vocalizes during play
Jabbers loudly using a wide variety of vowels, consonants and intonations
May acquire his/her first real word
Understands and follows simple commands
Turns head to his/her name
Can name/look for object that is out of sight
Begins to understand top/bottom, front/back
